Join the camp preparation efforts of Camp Encourage! The mission of Camp Encourage is to provide youth with autism spectrum disorder meaningful experiences in which they build the knowledge, courage, and skills to be empowered participants in the community. Our camps take place at Tall Oaks Conference Center in Linwood, KS.

Jackson County Parks + Rec Special Population Services is dedicated to the provision of multi-recreation services for the developmentally disabled of Jackson County. Themed dances are held every quarter and we need volunteers to assist with the preparation. Dances are on hold now due to COVID, but we welcome inquiries to assist us when they resume.

Sporting KC Soccer For All Abilities Clinic, September 22nd, 2020 - Swope Soccer Village, 6310 Lewis Rd
Sporting KC’s 6th annual Abilities Clinic is specifically designed to interactively teach the very basics of soccer and about the different ways the sport can be adapted to allow individuals of all abilities to be able to play the game in a fun and inclusive environment.** Field Assistant (4:30-7pm) - Volunteers will be on the soccer field to assist participants with soccer drills and play. All volunteers must stay to help with cleanup.
** Registration (4-6pm) - Check in registered guests and hand out jerseys

Apply to be a Challenger Buddy! YMCA Challenger Buddies assist and support athletes in our Adaptive/Challenger program for individuals with special needs. They help athletes experience the joy of being part of a team in YMCA Challenger sports such as baseball. Not only do Buddies offer physical assistance as needed, they also offer encouragement and friendship.
