Bird Banding Demonstration and Backyard Bird Ecology!

Join us to see your favorite backyard birds up close! At this family-oriented event, the Missouri River Bird Observatory will conduct a banding demonstration. We will capture birds such as chickadees, titmice, cardinals and woodpeckers at the Discovery Center's birdfeeders, study them and release them unharmed. We will discuss the variety of avian adaptations that allow our native birds to successfully find food and cover during Missouri's autumn and winter seasons. Bring all your questions about bird beaks, feet, colors, habitats and more!
